Siberian-born violinist, Rimma Benyumova is building an international reputation as one of Europe's most captivating young virtuoso – praised for her maturity and profound musicality.

A graduate of the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music, where she studied with Ulf Wallin, Rimma is a former major prize winner at the Victor Tretyakov, Schoenfeld, David Oistrakh and Anton Rubinstein International Violin Competitions.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Rimma Benyumova also inspires as a Concertmaster of the most traditional orchestras. Currently Concertmaster in Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Ms. Benyumova enjoyed the trust of conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann, Daniel Gatti and Henrik Blomstedt among others. She served also as a Concertmeister in Staaskapelle Berlin, Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and is a regular guest in the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin and various orchestras abroad.

Her recent solo engagements include performances with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” Milano, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Opole, Poznan, Cracow, The Moscow Virtuosi under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov, “Kremlin” and “Russian Camerata” Chamber Orchestras among others.
She has also performed at numerous renowned music venues that have included the Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonic, Golden Hall of Musikverein Vienna, Victoria Hall Geneva, The Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Teatro del Vermo Milano and Bellevue Palace in Berlin honoring Federal President of Germany Joachim Gauck.

Born in Siberia in 1993, Rimma Benyumova grew up in a musical family and began playing the violin at the age of five. She took lessons from her father Michail Benyumov and continued her later studies in Berlin with Tomasz Tomasyewski.
The strong musical inspiration was provided to her also by Victor Tretiakov, Zakhar Bron, Salvadore Accardo, Maxim Vengerov, Anna Chumachenko.
Rimma was respectively a scholarship holder of AD Infinitum Foundation Berlin, Oscar und Vera Ritter Foundation Hamburg, Yamaha Foundation of Europe, German National Scholarship, Moscow Rotary Club Prize, and Ottillie-Selbah-Redslob Scholarship. She is also a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation.

Rimma plays on a violin by Camillus Camilli (Mantua, 1741), kindly loaned to her by a generous sponsor through the LMN Society Berlin.
